John Hoey, 71, of Framingham passed away Monday Dec. 5th at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. John was the son of Laura (Urbanati) Hoey and the late George Hoey. He was the husband of Margaret (Holl) Hoey to whom he was married for 44 years. A lifelong resident of Framingham, John worked for Sears Co. as an appliance technician for 35 years. He was an active member of the American Legion James O'Carey Post 77 in Ashland. In addition to his wife and mother John is survived by his daughter, Victoria Hoey of Framingham, two brothers, William Hoey of Framingham and Gerald Seymour of Mashpee, one sister, Jean Racey of Framingham, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 10th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.
