Ashland: Joan F. (Marson) Williams, 91, died peacefully and surrounded in the comfort of her loving family on Sunday, March 21, 2010. Joan was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Joan was born in 1918 and brought up in Dorchester. She was the daughter of the late Manfred and Mary Marson. In 1942 Joan married the late Arthur W. Williams, to whom she was devoted for forty eight years. Together they raised a family in the Framingham area, where they lived for forty years. In 1980, Joan and Arthur retired to West Harwich, where they spent many happy retirement years together. In her death, Joan leaves behind her two devoted sons: Richard Williams and his wife, Cynthia; and Robert Williams and his wife, Irene, all of Ashland. Joan is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Lance Williams, and his wife, Susan, of Seattle, WA; Michelle Bearer and her husband, Jim, of Ashland; Bridgette Dean and her husband, Brian, of Ashland; Emilie Hann, and her husband, Kerry, of Milford; Jennifer Jenkins, and her husband, Rodney, of Hookset, NH. Joan also beamed with pride for her eight great-grandchildren. Joan leaves her lifelong confidant and loyal sister, Alice MacConnell. She also leaves her cherished nephew, George MacConnell and his wife, Donna, all of Atlanta, GA. A funeral mass celebrating Joan's life will be held on Friday, March 26th at 11:00 at St. Matthew Parish, 105 Southville Rd in Southboro, Ma.
