Joan B
Pehoviak
Nov 13, 1919 — Jun 21, 2017
Joan Pehoviak, nee Giovanna Biselli, 97, died peacefully at home, a place she loved to be, surrounded by her loving family on June 21st. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Cliff, her sister Angela, and brothers Mike and Silvio.
Joan was first and foremost, a kind and gentle soul who was all about love. She always took time to smell the roses and enjoy the small things in life. She never met a dessert she didn't like. Having lived through the depression in her formative years, she appreciated everything and never let anything go to waste. Yard sales, where bargains could be found, kept her busy on Saturday mornings and her love of projects always kept her busy- sewing, knitting, crocheting and crafting before DIY projects became popular. All who knew her knew she loved everything and anything blue!
Joan was born and raised in Framingham before moving to Ashland to raise her family. Although she worked briefly on the switchboard at Dennison Manufacturing, she was mostly a stay at home mom. She lived a long and quiet life doting on her husband, children, grandchildren and family. Kindness, love and compassion to all is her legacy.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Joanie Ayotte of Kingston, her sons, Paul of Ashland, and John and his wife Laura of Monson, grandchildren, Drew and Megan Pehoviak, and Josh and Jon Ayotte, and several nieces and a nephew.
Her family would like to thank Cindy Stucchi, Denise Lee, and Deb Lada for the love and care given to our mom and to Maggie Davis and the staff from the Metrowest Hospice for their kind and loving end of life care.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visiting hours on Monday, June 26th from 9-11 AM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland, MA. A Rite of Christian Burial will be held following calling hours at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
