Obituary

Gerald W. Bunker, 70, of Ashland passed away Thursday April 28th surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Donald and Grace (Lord) Bunker. Jerry was a firefighter in the Town of Ashland for many years retiring in 1991. In addition, he worked as a building contractor and owned and operated Bunker Excavation Co. in Ashland for many years. He had a passion for old Farmall Tractors having restored several and served as the President of the International Harvester Collector's Club New England Chapter 18. Jerry served his country honorably with the Coast Guard during the Vietnam War receiving two Bronze Stars.
He is survived by two daughters; Lori Keenan and her husband Bill of Corona, CA; and Cindi Grover and her husband Mark of Ashland; former wife Peggy Bunker of Ashland, six grandchildren; Matthew, Taylor, and Michael Keenan; and Nickolas, Brandon, and Brianna Grover; and one sister, Marilyn Bunker of Chelsea, VT.
A funeral service will be held Thursday May 12th at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Wednesday May 11th from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jerry's name to the International Harvester Collector's Club (checks payable to Chapter 18), 68 Marie Ave, Nashua, NH 03063
