Jennifer Heaton Fields, 50, of Bolton, Massachusetts, passed away on October 17, 2026.
Born on October 30, 1975, in Framingham, Massachusetts, Jennifer was the beloved daughter of Donald S. Heaton, formerly of Southborough and now of Hopkinton, and the late Renate Sanden Heaton.
Jennifer grew up in Southborough, Massachusetts, and graduated from Algonquin Regional High School. She attended Boston University and went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Framingham State University and an M.Ed. in psychology and education from Cambridge College.
Jennifer had a special place in her heart for children facing difficult circumstances. She was particularly proud of her work with The CASA Project, serving as a child advocate in the Worcester court system from 2013 - 2020. Often assigned to the most difficult cases, she had a “powerful gift” working especially with teenage girls who responded to her; sensed her genuine support and trusted her. Throughout this time and later when she spoke of her career goals, she aspired to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and adolescents, helping them find greater stability, opportunity, and hope for the future.
Jennifer also had a lifelong interest in cosmetology, hairstyling, and fashion. She enjoyed the creativity and personal connections these interests brought to her life and worked in the beauty industry for many years.
Above all, Jennifer's greatest joy and deepest love was her daughter, Amanda. From the moment Amanda was born, she was the center of Jennifer's world and an enduring source of pride, happiness, and strength. Their bond was especially meaningful as Jennifer faced significant health challenges throughout her life.
Jennifer is survived by her beloved daughter, Amanda Fields; her father, Donald S. Heaton; and her former husband, Michael Fields. She was predeceased by her mother, Renate Sanden Heaton.
A funeral service will be held Saturday November 7th at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA. There are no visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennifer's memory may be made to The CASA Project Worcester County, 100 Grove Street, Suite 403 Worcester, MA 01605
