Jean D. Smith, 87, of Ashland passed away Mon. May 29th after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Henry F. Smith who died in 2011. Jean worked as an operator with New England Telephone for over 20 years retiring in 1991.
She is survived by two children; Joseph F. Fahey of Bernardsville, NJ; and Carol J. Campos and her husband Christian of Sherborn, MA; four grandchildren; Kerry, Adam, and Lauren White, and Robyn Campos. She was the mother of the late Diane M. Fahey and Mark R. Fahey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday June 1st at 10:00am in St. Bernard's Parish, 1523 Washington St. W. Newton, MA with burial to follow in Newton Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Congregation of the Sisters of our Lady of Mercy, 241 Neposet Ave. Dorchester, MA 02122
