Jean Marie Bylsma, 51, of Ashland passed away Wednesday Feb. 13th at her home surrounded by her loving family following a courageous six-year battle with breast cancer. She was loved to the moon and back by her three beautiful daughters, Marissa, Alicia, and Cassandra, and her devoted husband of 22 years, Peter. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna (Gallimore) Sannicandro. A lifelong resident of Ashland, Jean graduated from Boston College Class of 1983. After working as a software engineer and instructor at Northeastern University, she found her true calling as a loving mother to her children. Generous, loving, hilarious, devoted, and at times stubborn and feisty, she lived every day to the fullest and enriched the lives of everyone she knew. Through her work as a special needs advocate, and her fearless dedication to helping others, she made sure no one was denied the chance to fulfill their dreams. In addition to her husband she is survived by three children; Marissa, Alicia, and Cassandra Bylsma; her loyal dog Teddy; siblings; Ernest Sannicandro and his wife Rose of Ashland; Robert Sannicandro and his wife Theresa of Upton; Donna Domestico and her husband Charles of Ashland; June O'Brien and her husband John of Ashland; and Nancy Donovan and her husband Thomas of North Carolina; many nieces and nephews; and dear family friend Nadine Ferdenzi. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday Feb. 16th at 12:00 PM in St. Matthew's Church in Southborough. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.
