Janice Ann (McCarthy) Karb passed away peacefully Friday, May 12, 2006 at her home in Ashland. She was the wife of William R. Karb for 20 years. Janice was born in Cambridge, graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School, and attended Mass Bay Community College. She was the daughter of the late William and Helen (Greene) McCarthy. Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Hilary and Chelsey of Ashland; her sister Therese of Tucson, AZ; her brother Bill and his wife Barbara of Watertown and Naples, FL; her father-in-law Richard D. Karb of Rockport; two brothers-in-law, Richard Karb Jr. and his wife Michelle of North Brookfield, and Peter Karb of Ashland; as well as several loving nieces and nephews, and her faithful companion Dallas. Janice was a loving mother and wife and along with her husband Bill was devoted to raising her two daughters Hilary and Chelsey. Janice was very involved in the academic, social and athletic affairs of both her daughters. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 17th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, (www.mataresefuneral.com), 325 Main St. in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Matarese Funeral Home. Donations may be made in her memory to the MetroWest Cancer Care Center, 99 Lincoln Street, Framingham, MA 01702.
