Janice Higgins, formerly Janice Palladino of Natick, inspired everyone she met in her life. She was 49 years old when she passed away on May 25, 2014 after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. She was a graduate of Holliston High School and Worcester State College. Janice was the loving wife of Harold Higgins for 24 years and she adored her two sons Matthew and Michael. Janice was predeceased by her mother, Mary E. Palladino and her father-in-law, Harold Higgins. Along with her husband and sons she is survived by her father James W. Palladino, and her sister and brothers: Annmarie Higgins and her husband John (brother of Harold), Jim Palladino and his wife Andrea, and Bill Palladino and his wife Sally. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Claire Higgins and her family: MaryLou Frere and her husband Eric and Ann MacKay and her husband Mark; cherished nieces and nephews, Timothy MacKay and his wife Stephanie, Andrew MacKay and his wife Joanne, Mark MacKay, Jack and Luke Higgins, Gianna and Alyssa Palladino, Paul and Chloe Frere, and grand nephews Benjamin and Tommy MacKay. She also leaves behind her wonderful caregivers and friends at Oak Knoll Healthcare Center in Framingham. Janice loved to go camping and she enjoyed family celebrations with her extended family, especially her two nieces, six nephews, and two grand nephews. Calling hours will be at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland on Tuesday, May 27th from 5-7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be at Saint Cecilia's Church in Ashland on Wednesday, May 28th at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland.
