Janet E Garbarino, 79, of Ashland, passed away, Thursday, Jan. 20th, 2011. Born in Hopkinton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes (Wilcox) McIntyre, and wife of Charles A. Garbarino, Jr. for 60 years. A resident of Ashland for 55 years, Mrs. Garbarino worked as an administrative assistant with the Massachusetts State Police, retiring in 1992. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children: Charles A. Garbarino III and his wife Karen of Hopkinton; Carol Donoghue and her husband Thomas of Ashland; and Bill Garbarino and his wife Patricia of Ashland; seven grandchildren; Charles IV and Michael Garbarino, Ann-Marie(Garbarino) Stephens, Patrick and Brian Donoghue , Lisa (Garbarino)Vendetti and Laura Garbarino, seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters; Agnes Penney and Claire Robbins, both of Hopkinton. She was the sister of the late James McIntyre, Mary Simpson,and Frances Spindel. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 26th at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
