Jane M. Bushey, formerly of Marlborough died September l5, 2015 at Benchmark Senior Living at Plymouth Crossings , Plymouth, MA where she resided for the past 3 years. Jane was 78 years old and died of cancer. She was born March 15, 1937 in Marlborough, daughter of the late Marguerite (Lombardi) Bushey and the late Claude W. Bushey. Jane graduated from Marlborough High School in 1954 and from Regis College in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Jane also received a Masters Degree in Education in 1961 from Worcester State College. After graduation from Worcester State College she was assigned a teaching position in Japan for the United States Air Force personnel. Upon her return to the United States, Jane taught at the Hildreth School, Marlborough teaching remedial reading for several years until retirement in 1993. Jane retired to Wells, Maine where she enjoyed golfing, reading, traveling, socializing, Bingo, and dining out (especially for her favorite, a Maine lobster dinner). Prior to moving to Plymouth Crossings Jane moved to Falmouth, MA for a few years to be closer to family and friends. She leaves two brothers, Michael W. Bushey and Stephen H. Bushey of Nevada, one sister Claudia (Bushey) Bennett, her husband Richard of Ashland and two nieces, Gloria and Molly. Jane leaves her cousin, Barbara (Bushey) Daniels, her husband Alan and their children, Debra and Bob. She also leaves her cousin Joseph Lombardi, his wife Thea of Florida, and their children Michael Lombardi and Thea Lombardi. Jane was very close throughout the years to the Richer family, Betty and Phil, Connie, Julie and Matthew. A Memorial Service will honor and remember Jane's life on Saturday September 26, 2015 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland, MA 01721. Calling Hours will be held Saturday from 3:00- 4:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Marlboro.
