JUPITER, Fla. James H. Shepard, 61, of Jupiter, Fla., formerly of Framingham, passed away Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Fla. Born in Framingham, he had been a resident of Jupiter for seven years, coming from Cataumet. Prior to retirement, Jim was living in Santa Barbara, Calif., where he was a drug and alcohol counselor and managed New House III. He was a friend of Bill W. and an avid golfer. Jim was a friend and mentor for many years from the west coast to the east. He was well loved and will be missed. Survivors include his beloved wife, Sandy A. (Ritchie) Shepard of Jupiter; one son, James H. and his wife, Nina, Shepard II of Millis; one daughter, Kymberly and her husband, Mark Havens, of Stoughton; two grandsons, Jack and Sam Havens; parents, Howard Shepard of Framingham and the late Marion (Palumbo) Shepard; one brother, Joseph and his wife, Judy; two nieces, Jillian Shepard Seaton and Jena Shepard; aunt, Lee Connor of Leisure City, Fla. A memorial service will be held at the Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland, on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. A private internment will be held Monday, Nov. 2.
