James Michael Morrissey, 78, of Mashpee passed away Wed. Nov. 28, 2018 Born and raised in the Bronx, NY; he was the son of the late William and Catherine (Gilmartin) Morrissey.  Mr. Morrissey worked as a Diagnostics Engineer for IBM, retiring in 1991.  A graduate of the Aviation High School in New York City, he served his country honorably with the US Air Force from 1958-1962.  He obtained a BS Physics from SUNY New Paltz in 1970. He enjoyed reading, hiking, birding, camping, biking, kayaking, skiing and was a member of the National Ski Patrol.

James is survived by two sons, Michael Morrissey and his wife Maribeth of Ashland, MA; and John Morrissey and his wife Deborah of Chelmsford, MA; grandchildren Timothy, Abigail, Jeffrey, Joseph and Nathan; sister Patricia Killeen and her husband Mike of the Bronx NY, sister Veronica Tompkins of E Brunswick NJ and many nephews and nieces.  His sister Elizabeth O'Leary of Astoria NY, predeceased him.
