James P. Miller, 70, longtime resident of Ashland, died peacefully in his sleep Thursday morning at his home. Born and raised in Cleveland, OH; he was the son of the late John and Ann (Neitenbach) Miller and brother to the late Dennis J. Miller. Jim worked as a mechanic with the M.B.T.A. and was an accomplished and amazing stained glass craftsman. Mr. Miller served his country honorably during the Vietnam War as a First Lt. in the Army. He is survived by two children; Kimberly Ann Miller of Woburn; and Adam John Miller of Hudson; one beloved granddaughter; Olivia Catherine Miller; former wife; Alice (Carroll) Miller; one brother; Ronald Miller; one sister; Beverly Schmauder; one brother in law, Paul Carroll, and doting uncle to a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13th from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. In keeping with his wishes there is no funeral service.
