Obituary

James P. Miller, 70, longtime resident of Ashland, died peacefully in his sleep Thursday morning at his home. Born and raised in Cleveland, OH; he was the son of the late John and Ann (Neitenbach) Miller and brother to the late Dennis J. Miller. Jim worked as a mechanic with the M.B.T.A. and was an accomplished and amazing stained glass craftsman. Mr. Miller served his country honorably during the Vietnam War as a First Lt. in the Army. He is survived by two children; Kimberly Ann Miller of Woburn; and Adam John Miller of Hudson; one beloved granddaughter; Olivia Catherine Miller; former wife; Alice (Carroll) Miller; one brother; Ronald Miller; one sister; Beverly Schmauder; one brother in law, Paul Carroll, and doting uncle to a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13th from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. In keeping with his wishes there is no funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fisher House Foundation, Inc. 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 420, Rockville, MD 20850-5168
