James Patrick Fox, 86, longtime resident of Ashland passed away Thursday April 11th at his home with his family by his side.  Born in NY, he was the son of the late William and Anne (Fiddler) Fox and husband to the late Ednamarie (Schwenker) Fox who died in 2007.  Mr. Fox worked as a comptroller technician for the State of MA until his retirement in 2002.  He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Rice Council and a past Fourth Degree Faithful Navigator of the Edward F McSweeney Assembly.

James is survived by two daughters, Ednamarie Baker of Ashland, and Cyndy Bishop of Natick, seven grandchildren, Alicia, Jamie, Carly, Seth, and Laura Baker, and Jessica (Bishop) Gately and Johnny Bishop, 4 great grandchildren Helayna, Wyatt, Becket and Delilah, nephew, Thomas Garland who has been a devoted caretaker to James, as well as several additional nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Thursday April 18th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.  Visiting hours will be held Wed. from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
