James Joseph Foley, 73, of Upton, MA passed away at home on Wednesday, July 15, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Born in Hudson, MA, he was the son of the late John and Mary Jane (Dibono) Foley and husband to Mary Lee (Galloni) Welch for 45 years.  Mr. Foley worked as a service technician for Eversource Co. for many years, retiring in 2015.  He enjoyed playing golf and classic cars.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Foley and her partner Bobby Arena of Cape Neddick, ME, three step-children, Debbie Hanson and her husband Dana of Albany, NY, George "Butchie" Welch and his wife Darlene of Hopkinton, and Lisa Piekarski and her husband John of RI, two grandchildren, Dana Hanson Jr and his wife Amanda, and Tyler Piekarski, and two great grandchildren, Trey and Madison Hanson, three siblings, Patrick Foley of KY, Lisa Stokes and her husband Tony of Hubbardston, MA, and John Foley and his wife Lisa of Bellingham, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and several very special friends.  He was the stepfather of the late James Welch and brother of the late Mary Jane Cerutti.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 8th from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Marlboro Country Club, 200 Concord Road, Marlborough, MA.  Dress is Casual.
