Obituary

James English, 83, of Marlboro passed away Sunday June 25th after period of declining health.  Born in New Jersey, "Gentleman Jim" was the only child of Dorothy and James English. Raised in Pleasantville, Jim developed a close bond and life-long connection to his cousin Jim Shepard. His love of cars developed early on and continued throughout his life. He owned a service station in NY, and spent his extra time racing cars. Jim later moved to Massachusetts where he worked at Duraelectric for 33 years. He enjoyed helping build a car that was raced at the Bonneville Salt Flats and enjoyed snowmobiling with friends and visits with family in New Jersey.

Jim is survived by his wife Pauldine English and his daughter Barbara English.

A funeral service will be held Thursday June 29th at 5:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.  Calling hours will be held Thursday from 3:00-5:00 PM prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Carlyle House Patient Recreation Acct., 342 Winter St. Framingham, MA  01702
