James Edward Casey, 88 of Punta Gorda, Fl; formally from Ashland and Falmouth MA entered into rest on Feb. 24th 2017 at his residence with his loving family by his side. James was born Dec. 12th, 1928 in Southborough,  MA to William Casey and Ada Carbone Kenney. James moved to Florida in 1986 after retiring as a hardwood floor contractor. He was an avid golfer, furniture maker, member of the Knights of Columbus as a fourth degree Knight and a former member of Framingham Country Club.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years Elizabeth, 2 loving daughters; Dorothy Nardini and her husband Richard and there 3 children, Dickie, Christine and Craig; Maureen Casey and her daughter Brooke; 2 loving sons; William and his companion Sandy and there 2 daughters, Caitlin and Krysten; and Michael and Rita Casey and their combined 9 children, a son, James preceded him in death in 2012, and 7 great grandchildren. James is also survived by 2 sisters, Mary Clark, and Peggy Cox, a brother, William preceded him in death, and his beloved dog Casey.

A funeral service will be held Mon. May 15th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA with urn burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Monday from 9:00-11:00am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice House at 1144 Veronica St. Port Charlotte, Fl 33952.
