James B. Canning 82 of Ashland passed away February 1st. He was the husband of Cecylia (Piekarski) Canning. Born in Malden,MA ,He had lived in Ashland since 1985. He was employed with the General Electric Co.as an electrical tester for over 30 years before retiring in 1990. Besides his wife he is survived by one son: Christopher Canning and his wife Jennifer of Milford,MA Five grandchildren: Nicholas, Kayla, Andrew, Jared, and Emma. He was predeceased by his grandson Shawn Canning. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday morning at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church Esty St. Ashland with interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland,MA One hour of visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6 to 7pm in the Matarese Funeral Home 325 Main St. Ashland,MA.
