John "Jack" Burdge, 71, of The Villages, FL formerly of Westfield passed away Tuesday July 9th. Jack was the husband of Shirley (Sczucynski) Burdge for 48 years. A resident of Westfield for 40 years, he moved to The Villages, FL in 2006. A devout Red Sox fan, Jack was a member of the The Villages Red Sox Nation as well as an avid golfer. Mr. Burdge served his country honorably in the Navy. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters; Jackie Rendle and her husband Ronald of Laurel, MD; and Jennifer Simpson and her husband Jake of Ashland, MA; three grandchildren; Sarah, Nicholas, and Taylor Simpson; one sister, Barbara Burdge of Belchertown, MA; and was the brother of the late George Woods. A funeral service will be held Friday July 12th at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland, MA.
