Irene M. Trainor, 81, of Ashland, passed away, Tuesday, Oct. 27th at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. Born in Natick, she was the daughter of the late Laurence and Laura (Howell) Tupper. Irene was the wife of the late James W. Cunningham, who died in 1955. She was later married for 50 years to the late Edward J. "Ned" Trainor, who died in 2006. A resident of Ashland for 50 years, she was a member of St. Cecilia's Church. Mrs. Trainor is survived by six sons: Richard Cunningham and his wife Michele of Hopkinton; Stephen Trainor and his wife Bunny of Ashland; Joseph Trainor and his wife Gerry of Upton; Raymond Trainor of Ashland; Robert Cunningham and his wife Cynthia of Lawrenceburg, IN; and Edward Trainor and his wife Julie of Ridgefield, CT; thirteen grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was the grandmother of the late Kathrine Cunningham. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 31st at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.
