Irene Leona Plourde, 91, of Ashland passed away Sunday Jan. 22nd surrounded by her family. Born in Milford, MA; she was the daughter of the late Donat and Aurore (Boisvert) DeManche and beloved wife of 68 years to Conrad E. Plourde. Irene worked as a clerk for Robertson's Jewelers in downtown Framingham in the 1970's and later at Stowell's Jewelers in the Natick Mall retiring in the 1980's. She was an avid traveler who especially enjoyed camping trips with her family and traveling abroad and to the islands with her sisters.

In addition to her husband; she is survived by four children; Paul Plourde and his wife Gwen of Upton; Jeanne Plourde of Natick; Lorraine Goguen and her husband Wayne of Sterling; and Kenneth Plourde and his wife Holly of Upton; two grandchildren; Amy and Natalie Plourde; and four great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Leo and Raymond DeManche, Theresa Dunlop, Donna Metcalf, Estelle Buckley, Lucille Lynch, and Lena Moore.

A funeral service will be held Thursday Jan. 26th at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. One calling hour will be held Thursday from 9:00-10:00am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011
