Hilda Frances (Allen) Feltmate, formerly of Medfield, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 08, at the home of her daughter in Gray, Maine, where she has resided for the past four years. Born Jan. 2, 1917, in St. John, New Brunswick, Hilda moved with her family at age 9 to Mass. where she grew up in Malden. She married Merrill Shove Allen in 1941; together they raised four children before he passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack in 1961. Hilda is survived by two daughters, Joyce Grindrod and her husband Cliff of Dighton, Alix Gebelein and her husband Dick of Gray, Maine; two sons, Robert Allen and his wife Angel of Damascus, MD, David Allen and his wife Brenda of Palm Bay, FL; 11 grandchildren, Connie Jardim, Cheryl Botelho, Michael Grindrod; Rick Gebelein, Beth Bennett, Scott Gebelein; Tim Allen, Scott Allen, Jennifer Maxfield; David Allen, Sarah Cottrill; 33 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Royal Ridge Church of God, 6 Royal Ridge Rd., Scarborough, Maine, on Monday, April 12, at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Ashland, Mass., at Wildwood Cemetery on Tuesday, April 13, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hilda's memory may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter, 170 US Route 1, Suite 250, Falmouth, Maine 04105-2152.
