Helen Veronica Gallaway, 88, of Ashland formerly of Boston passed away Friday Sept. 28th in Natick. Born in Boston, she was daughter of the late Jeremiah and Veronica (Bradley) Mahoney and wife of the late Ernest Gallaway for 56 years. A lifelong resident of Boston, she moved to Ashland in 2006 to be near family. Mrs. Gallaway worked for Sylvania Co. for over 25 years. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by three daughters; Diane Berry and her husband Bob of Ashland; Sheila Prunier of Hampstead, NH; and Nancy Andrew and her husband Rick of Tyngsboro, MA; eight grandchildren; Theresa Fister, Michelle Young, Robert Berry, Laura Allen, Kimberly Mayer, Karen Langmeyer, Jennifer Butler, and Michael Mayer; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; including Kathy and Bruce Rubin of Mansfield, MA; and William and Amy Mahony of Sudbury, MA. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 3rd at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. Calling hours will be held from 9:00-11:00am prior to the service.
