Helen Irene Featherstone, 87, of Ashland, passed away Monday Dec. 19th. She was the wife of the late Charles B. Featherstone. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Johanna (Regan) McLean. Helen graduated from Framingham High School Class of 1942 and Framingham Business College as Class President. A resident of Ashland for over 60 years, she was an active member of St. Cecilia's Church serving as a Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, and member of the choir for 25 years. She is survived by nine children: Cheryl Merryman and her husband John of Lebanon, ME; Barbara Paulsen of Ashland; Jean Correia and her husband Roger of Upton; Mary Gassett and her husband John of Milford; Dennis Featherstone and his wife Donna of Uxbridge; Robert Featherstone and his wife Dawn of Rutland; Shaun Featherstone and Lynn of Milford; Tim Featherstone and his wife Patti of Riverside, RI; and Tom Featherstone and his wife Susan of Kerreville, TX; Mother of her beloved son, the late Charlie Featherstone. She also leaves 28 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren and many neices and nephews. Helen was a beautiful Mother, cherished grandmother, caring Aunt and a wonderful friend. She was a special lady loved by all. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 23rd at 9:00AM in St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Beaumont Nursing Home, Recreation Department, 85 Beaumont Drive, Northbridge, MA 01534.
