Helen M. Blongastainer, 79 of Ashland passed away Sun. Dec. 3rd after a period of declining health.  Born in PEI, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Althea (Stewart) Keefe and wife of the late Austin Blongastainer who died in 2007.  A graduate of Waltham High School, Helen worked as a teacher's assistant at the Ashland Middle School for many years. Helen enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod, reading, and traveling. She also loved every moment that she had with her grandchildren,  cousins, friends, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by three children, David Blongastainer and his wife Jamie of Mesa, AZ, Karen Haynes and her husband Edward of Holliston, and Brian Blongastainer and his wife Heidi of Franklin, seven grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Clara, and Harper Blongastainer, and Rachel, Lucas, and Lindsay Haynes.

A funeral service will be held Saturday Dec. 16th at 11:30am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA with urn burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 9:00-11:00am prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ashland Emergency Fund, PO Box 112, Ashland, MA  01721
