Harold Hakansson, 83 of Naples, ME, formerly a lifelong resident of Framingham passed away Sunday Oct. 1st surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Carl and Sigrid (Stenson) Hakansson and husband to Judith (Dyer) Hakansson for 60 years. Harold started his career as an engineer with New England Telephone and later worked as a salesman for Framingham Welding and Engineering retiring in 2000. He was a life member of the Framingham Elks. Mr. Hakansson served his country honorably in the Army Reserves.

In addition to his wife; he is survived by three children; Kurt Hakansson and his husband Robert Hall of Jamaica Plain, MA; Eric Hakansson and his husband Phil Perry of Quincy, MA; and Karen Hakansson of Clinton, MA; and five grandchildren; Kevin, Andrew, and Daniel Hakansson, and Melissa and Alison Carmody. He was the brother of the late Marta Carlson, and Sten, Eric, Kurt, Einar, Helen, and Fred Hakansson.

A celebration of life will be held Friday Oct. 6th at 10am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA with burial to follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home.
