Harold E. Bridges, 87, of Ashland passed away Sunday, Jan. 8th at the Milford Regional Medical Center. Born in Montville, ME; he was the son of the late Ernest and Lillian (Dyer) Bridges and husband to the late Loretta (Martin) Bridges. A longtime resident of Ashland, Mr. Bridges owned and operated Harold's Upholstery in Framingham for over 40 years and previously worked with his parents at Dow Upholstery in Framingham. He was a master of his trade and will be fondly remembered by the many people he met through his business. Harold served his country honorably during WWII in the Navy and was a charter member of the VFW Post 2331 in Ashland. He is survived by four children: Paul S. Bridges and his wife Ellen of Northboro; Virginia A. Buck of Hopkinton; Wayne F. Bridges and his wife Wanda of Ashland; and Elizabeth M. Morse and her husband Jonathan of Milford; eight grandchildren; Lori Bridges of Florida; Lynn Weeden of Hopedale; Leo Buck of Hopkinton; Karen Tufford of Flint, MI; Jessica and Emily Morse of Milford; and Garret and Shauna Bratica of Ashland; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother Ernest V. Bridges of Virginia Beach, VA. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Framingham Heart Study, 73 Mt. Wayte Ave. Framingham, MA 01702.
