Gopala Krishnan, 65, of Ashland, MA passed away July 22nd in Boston after an unexpected illness. He was the husband of the late Lavonne (Mehrenberg) Krishnan who died in 2010. Born in Cochin, India, he was the son of the late R. Ramalingaier and C.R. Seethalakshmi. He had lived in Ashland over 30 years. He received his Masters degree from Bucknell University Class of 1972. He went on to receive his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, Class of 1977. He was a software engineer having been employed with EMC and most recently Hewlett Packard Co. Mr. Krishnan enjoyed his years as a soccer coach for Hopkinton High School and Littleton High School. He also coached Elite State League soccer teams. He is survived by a daughter, Kamala Krishnan of Ashland; a son, Raman Krishnan of Ashland; three brothers, Dr. Parameswaran Ramalingaigr and his wife Prabha of Willow Grove, PA, Ranganathan Ramalingaigr and Ramakrishnan Ramalingaigr; One sister, Alamelu Iyer, all from Cohin, India. A memorial service will be held on Sunday afternoon in the Federated Church, Main St., Ashland at 1:00 pm. Calling hours will be held on Saturday afternoon from the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Ashland from 2-5 pm.
