Gladys A. Thompson, 88, of Ashland passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22nd at her home in Ashland. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Marie Turner and wife of the late Merrill W. Thompson. A resident of Ashland for over fifty years, Gladys worked as a bookkeeper for Romeo's Market in Ashland. She was a devoted advocate for animal rights and animal lover. She is survived by one grandson, Michael Mather of Hopkinton. She was the mother of the late Merrill Thompson, Jr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Mather. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. One calling hour will be held from 10:00-11:00am prior to the service.
