Germain "Gerry" Mailhoit, 76, lifelong resident of Framingham passed away Friday March 22, 2024 after a brief illness.  He was the son of the late Germain and Eleanor (Roy) Mailhoit and husband of Lorna (Long) Donovan-Mailhoit for 26 years.  A graduate of Framingham South High School, Gerry co-owned and operated JAR Auto Service of Framingham for many years.  In addition, he worked for over 45 years as an auto mechanic for local companies such as K-Mart, Sears, Enterprise, Sullivan Tire, and Weston Nurseries.  He later worked as a driver for Tommy's Taxi.  Gerry served as a volunteer fire-fighter for the Town of Ashland for 14 years.  He enjoyed NASCAR, stockcar racing, hockey, and worked on many pit crews. He loved being a firefighter and visiting firehouses wherever he traveled.  He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Framingham.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by eight children, Tracy Mailhoit of Marlborough, Renee Mailhoit of Natick, Tami Long of Texas, Geri Lou Mailhoit of Marlborough, the late David Donovan of Florida, Amy Taylor and her husband Mike of Medway, James Donovan and his wife Ryan of Indiana, and Caitlin Donovan and her fiancé Edward Hall of Florida, six grandchildren, Castiel Donovan, Sapphire Donovan, Bowen Donovan, Piper Donovan, and Lily and Sophie Taylor.       Visiting hours will be held Saturday April 6th from 11:00am-2:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 PM in the First Baptist Church, 1013 Worcester Rd, Framingham, MA.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
