Gaetana Cioffi, 88, passed away October 22nd in Framingham after a period of declining health. Married for 51 years, she was the wife of the late Sigisilmondo Cioffi, who died in 1996. Born in Boston, MA; she was the daughter of the late Alfredo and Theresa (Tirtindo) Ferrara. She was a graduate of East Boston High and was the past President of the Women's Auxiliary of the James O. Carey Post 77 of the American Legion, Ashland. She was an avid Bingo player. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Cioffi is survived by a son: Alfred Cioffi and his wife Cindy of Whitinsville; two daughters: Mrs. Archie (Rosalie) Beaton of Ashland and Mrs. Gene (Marianne) Cioffi-Oteni of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services under the direction of the Matarese Funeral Home are private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her name to the Countryside Nursing Home Activities Fund, 153 Winter Street, Framingham, MA 01702.
