Frieda Irene (Johnston) Mac Vicar aged 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Leesburg, Florida.

Married for 65 years to Robert B. Mac Vicar who predeceased her in 2014.

Born in Maine to Frederick and Albertina (Libby) Johnston she grew up and attended school in Houlton, ME.

She attended and graduated with honors from New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Boston where she continued to work for 40 years until her retirement .

Frieda is survived by her daughters Christine Meyer (Dennis), Margaret Doucot (Michael) & son Bruce Mac Vicar (Marlene), a son Alan also predeceased her, 6 grandchildren Jeremy, Dennis and Corey Meyer, Renee Doucot, Keith Doucot (Michael) & Paul Doucot (Israel) and 1 great - grandson Liam Meyer and sister Sylvia Murray (Donald).

Frieda was also predeceased by brothers Robert, Charles, Ivan, Everett and sisters Louise and Edith.

Moving to Leesburg FL in 1986 with her husband she spent her leisure time with her many new friends, gardening, tennis and as a nursing volunteer within her community.

A Graveside urn burial service will be held Friday Dec. 5th at 11:00am in Wildwood Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Ashland, MA.
