Francis Leonard Tracy 87 of Ashland, passed away December 29th in Boston after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Jeanne (Paradis) Tracy, who died in 2006. Born in Malden he was the son of the late Francis and Dorothy (Lidbach) Tracy. He was a longtime resident of Ashland. Mr. Tracy graduated from Angel Guardian High School in Jamaica Plain, Class of 1938. He then went into the United States Army and was stationed at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese Attack in 1941. After returning home he attended Bentley College and graduated in 1955. He worked with the MBTA for over 20 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland, a life member of The Knights of Columbus, Bishop Rice Council, where he held the offices of Financial Secretary and Treasurer. He was also a member of the 3rd Order of Mary. Mr. Tracy was a dedicated father and friend to many. He is survived by his children; Thomas Tracy of Ashland, Stephen Tracy and his wife Susan of Chelmsford, and Theresa Blases of Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Timothy, Peter, Ben, Mark, Charles, Stephen, and Amy; and several cousins. A funeral Mass will be said on Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty Street in Ashland. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland.
