Florence Ruby Dancause (LaDue) 96 of Ashland passed away January 13th at her home surrounded by her loving family. Florence was born in Sparta, Wisconsin, the daughter of Claude LaDue and Nettie (Kroll) Marson. She was the wife of John F. Tartaglia and later married Charles "Charlie" Dancause.
Florence was active with Ashland Historical Society, Ashland Senior Center, was Past President of Ashland Cancer Society, past President of The Greater Ashland Lions Club and active with church and community. She was employed by General Electric Co. and Timex Corp of Ashland and enjoyed gardening and had tours in her garden for the blind. She cherished her many friends and played cards with them weekly until her recent illness.
She is survived by her sister, Claudia Annette Niemeyer of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and a brother Claude Clarence LaDue Jr. of Queensland Australia, her daughter, Marie Heenan of Rutland, three step daughters, Dianne Fearebay of Framingham, Donna Featherstone of Uxbridge, Debra Abate of Uxbridge, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her 2 sons, John Tartaglia and Richard Tartaglia, daughter Cheryl (Tartaglia) McLean, grandson Jeremy Siipola, and 7 siblings, Virginia Ronning, Leslie LaDue, Leonard LaDue, Roland LaDue, Pearl LaDue, and Rosemary LaDue.
A Prayer Service will be celebrated Saturday January 25th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA. Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 9:00-10:30am prior to the service.
