Obituary

Faye M. Clark 84, of Framingham passed away at the Carlyle House in Framingham after a period of declining health. Born in Franklin she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Olive (Moody) Clark. Ms. Clark, a teacher for over 40 years spent 31 of those in the Wellesley Public Schools and most as a teacher of children with special needs. Ms. Clark graduated from Franklin High School and in 1941 from the Wheelock School (later Wheelock College). She received her B.S. degree in teaching in 1945 and her master's degree in 1952, both from Boston University. In 1984 Ms. Clark was honored as a recipient of the Wellesley Award which is given in recognition of civic and humanitarian contributions. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Pi Lambda Theta, both honor societies for women in education. In 1978 she was made an honorary member of the Wellesley Junior Service League. She taught religious education at the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church for more than 20 years and spent summers giving lessons in nature studies at local camps. After her retirement in 1983 Ms. Clark lived in New Hampton, N.H. where she was a member of the New Hampton Community Church and the New Hampton Garden Club. Ms. Clark once described the special joy she found in working with special children. "Working with special children is like waiting for a seed to bloom. It takes care and lots of patience. But when, in its own time, it blossoms, the flower is even more beautiful." She is survived by one sister: Bessie Sibley of Hopkinton, two nephews: Robert E. Kindl and his wife Deborah of Bellingham, and William Clark Kindl of Hopkinton; three great nephews: Gregory Kindl of Uxbridge, Mark Kindl of Charlton and Bryan Kindl of Hopkinton; and one great niece, Marcey Kindl of Hopkinton. A service will be held on Friday November 11, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the Matarese Funeral Home Chapel, 325 Main Street in Ashland with interment to follow in the Franklin Cemetery in Franklin. There are no calling hours and her arrangements are under the direction of the Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland.
