Pound, Emily E. (Martin), 89, of Ashland, formerly of Norton, passed away on January 26, 2015 surrounded by family. Emily was the beloved wife of the late Robert Pound, Jr. with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her son, Robert Pound and his wife, Mary, as well as her daughters, Christine Shea and Diane Pound, who she very much enjoyed living with. She was the dear sister of Ernest Martin, Myrtle Blaisdell, Douglas Martin, the late Kenneth Martin, the late Richard Martin, and daughter of the late John and Olive (Buck) Martin. Emily was also the proud "Mimi" of Todd and Chad Pound; Jessica, Courtney and Bonnie Shea; and Michelle Pound; adoring great grandmother of Wyatt, Everett, Memo, and Mateo; and close to many nieces and nephews. Cherished by all who knew her, Emily was considered a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, or precious friend by many. She enjoyed hosting loved ones at her home; travelling to numerous countries and states; her earlier work in real estate; and watching her children's and grandchildren's athletic events. She will be missed greatly, but will always be remembered for her quick wit and caring manner; impeccable grammar and willingness to correct other's grammar; brilliant sewing ability and enthusiasm in sharing her talents for others; and her new favorite hobby of using her iPad to play games and keep in touch with many family and friends across the country. Loved ones will gather in honor of Emily's memorable life during visiting hours at the Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland on Friday, January 30 from 4-7 PM, and on Saturday, January 31 at 11 AM for her funeral service at St. Andrew's Church in Framingham. In lieu of sending flowers, Please send donations to the Walpole Scholarship Foundation P.O Box 5 South Walpole, MA 02071. Please include Emily's name in the memo section when sending a check.
