Obituary

Virginia (Jinny) Elsie Bees Trenholm, 87, most recently of the Lodge at Cold Spring, Rocky Hill, CT, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Midstate Medical Center, Meriden CT.  A graduate of Worcester State Teacher's College; she was a kindergarten and elementary school teacher for many years until her retirement.  She was also involved in the Young Women's Club, Theta Phi and Boy Scouts.  She was an avid crafter and also enjoyed playing the organ, Bridge and Cribbage.  She had recently begun knitting again with a wonderful group of women at the Lodge who make hats and blankets for the neonatal intensive care unit at ST Francis Medical Center in Hartford CT.  She was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Elmer Ross Trenholm.  The two had lived for many years in Ashland MA, Monroe CT, Asheboro NC, and Falling Waters WV.  She was the daughter of Frederick Thomas Smith Bees and Mary Elsie Smith Bees; born in Leominster MA on September 9, 1929.  She is predeceased by her sister Ruth Bees McLean and she predeceased her brother-in-law Edward McLean both of Lancaster NH. She is survived by her sister Marjorie Bees Thouren of Marlborough MA, son Mark Trenholm of Milford CT, daughter Terri Trenholm of Meriden CT, granddaughter Ashley Trenholm and grandson Brendan Trenholm and their mother Laurie MacAllister, all of Milford CT, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.  Services will be held on the weekend of their 66th Wedding Anniversary, Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00am in the John A. Matarese Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland MA.  In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made by donations in Virginia's memory to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston MA 02241-7005 or Hartford Healthcare at Home (Hospice), 1290 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 4B, and Wethersfield CT 06109.

Elmer (El) Ross Trenholm, 87, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at his home in Falling Waters, WV with his wife Virginia by his side. The two had lived for many years in Ashland MA, Monroe CT, Asheboro NC, and Falling Waters WV.  A graduate of Northeastern University Boston with a degree in chemical engineering. He retired as a manufacturing engineer after 37 years with Telechron/General Electric/Black & Decker.  Elmer was an Ashland volunteer firefighter in his youth and a member of the Army Air Corps in World War II. Later in life he volunteered with Junior Achievement, was a member of the Planning Board, as well as a Grand Master at the North Star Masonic Temple in Ashland MA. He lovingly restored his 1941 Chevy Convertible, was an avid gardener and also enjoyed playing Bridge.   He was the son William Albert Trenholm and Nellie Mae Linnekin; born in Framingham, MA on November 17, 1925.  He is predeceased by his sister Helena Alberta Camack. He is survived by his sister-in-law Marjorie Bees Thouren of Marlborough MA, son Mark Trenholm of Milford CT, daughter Terri Trenholm of Meriden CT, granddaughter Ashley Trenholm and grandson Brendan Trenholm and their mother Laurie MacAllister, all of Milford CT, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.  Services will be held on the weekend of their 66th Wedding Anniversary, Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00am in the John A.
