Obituary

Elizabeth M. Cove, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 12, 1938, she lived a life filled with love, adventure, and unwavering dedication to her family.

She is survived by her cherished children: Stuart Cove of Nassau, Bahamas; Sara Cove of Wayland; Susan Griffin and her husband, Kevin, of Dover; Sandra Cove of Wellesley; and Sean Cove of Cambridge. Her legacy lives on through her adored grandchildren: Danielle Avril and her husband, Ryan; Sean, Isla, and Aidan Griffin; Travis and Sasha Cove; Iain and Jane Kehoe; and Maia and Gavin Gallagher. She was further blessed with two great-grandchildren, Blake and Miles Avril. Elizabeth is also survived by her dear sister, Fiona Horan of Northumberland, UK.

In 1961, Elizabeth embarked on an extraordinary journey, emigrating from her birthplace of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Northumberland, UK, to Nassau, Bahamas, with her former husband, Dr. Norman Cove. She embraced island life with warmth and resilience, building a home and raising her family. After a brief return to the UK, she moved to the United States in 1993 to be closer to her children, continuing to cultivate a life rich in love, laughter, and treasured family moments.

For over 20 years, Elizabeth worked and resided above the Ashland dental practice of her daughters, Dr. Sandra and Sara Cove. She was the heart of practice, and patients loved seeing her in her beautiful garden. She later retired in Dover, with her daughter, Susan and her family.

Elizabeth's greatest joys in life were her family and her beloved dog, Sadie. She found peace and happiness spending hours in her garden, cultivating beauty with the same care she showed to those around her.

Elizabeth will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering devotion to her loved ones, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
