Elizabeth Anne (O'Brien) " Betty" Buckley passed away peacefully on the 23rd of January. She was predeceased by and is now reunited with her beloved husband of 48 years Raymond Joseph Buckley along with her sister Mary Lace of Tucson, AZ, brother Arthur O'Brien Jr of Malden, and her parents Arthur and Sara O'Brien. She is survived by her sons; Wayne Buckley of Ashland; and Scott Buckley of Worcester; her sisters; Barbara Wood of Ashland; and Jeane Craven of Malden; as well as her goddaughter; Sara Beth Wood of Ashland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Betty was a graduate of Malden High School and later attended and earned certificates from Holliston Junior College and Northeastern University. She was at various times in her working career an accountant and office administrator; employed by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston; Twin Maple Farms in Saxonville; Goodwin Furniture in Framingham; Fenwal Corporation in Ashland; Prime Computer in Natick; Computervision in Bedford; and The Roberts Company in Framingham. She loved to travel, having left her footprints in California, Mexico, Florida, Canada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Canada, Bermuda and all the New England states. Betty also enjoyed cooking, gardening, bowling, dancing, movies and life in general, having lived her own with zest. A Celebration of her Life will take place Monday, January 28th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. One calling hour will be held from 10:00-11:00am prior to the service.
