Elizabeth (Schanze) Alessi, 89, died December 26, 2010 in Framingham, MA. Born April 1, 1921, in Queens, NY, to Friederich and Marie (Bauer) Schanze, she graduated from NY City College and married Humbert Alessi (pre-deceased 1990) in 1943. She retired from the Newton, MA, school administration in 1985 with over 20 years of employment. She is survived by two sons, Walter (spouse Mary) of Falmouth, MA and Albert (spouse Debra) of Woodstock, VT, as well as 5 grandchildren (Alison, Brett, Lauren, Eden and Elizabeth), and 3 great-grandchildren (Ethen, Amelia and Luke). She is predeceased by her son Frederick, and by her brothers Vincent, Ernest, and Frederick. A devoted wife and mother, she took great joy in her family until the very end, offering endless support, wonderful humor, and unconditional love to all who knew her. Services will be held January 8 at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street in Ashland MA from 1-3 PM.
