Eileen Frances (Hart) Buell passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Eileen was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Alfred D. Buell, whom she missed dearly for the past 25 years.

Eileen was also predeceased by her loving sister Dorothy (Hart) Vayda and her brother, Robert Hart.  She is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Donald A. Buell and his partner Todd King of Sutton and Leon W. Buell of Ashland, and her six daughters, Dianne E. Richards and her husband, Brian of Upton, Karen E. Buell and her partner Bruce Jerrett of Milford, Patricia A. Garbarino and her husband William of Ashland, Deborah J. Mastrofillippo and her husband, John of Shrewsbury, Dorothy B. Slocum and her husband, Timothy of Ashland and Tammy E. Robertson of Ashland. Eileen also leaves 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.  She also leaves her sister-in-law, Joanne (Buell) Bache as well as several nieces and nephews.

Eileen was born in Framingham, MA on Nov. 7, 1928 and lived with her parents, Donald Hart and E. Helen (Griffin/Hart) Burgess.  She worked at Dennison making aprons, enjoyed sewing and crocheting doilies.  Eileen loved her life as a devoted wife and dedicated, proud mother raising her 8 "chickies".  Being an avid reader of various writings, including Road and Track magazine… education was encouraged.  Eileen had a wonderful sense of wanderlust and loved to travel and take pictures.  She drove her motor home to the cape and Florida to Disney World.  She overcame her fear of flying to go on her lifelong dream of an Alaskan Cruise.

Family and friends will honor and remember Eileen by gathering for calling hours in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland on Friday July 7, 2023 from 4pm until 7pm. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday July 8, 2023 at 10am. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland.
