Egidio "Eddie" Pontremoli Jr., 79, of Framingham, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Beth Israel Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Nellie (Battistoni) Pontremoli for 61 years. The son of Egidio and Julia (Otenti) Pontremoli, he attended Framingham schools. He joined the Framingham Fire Department in 1962, retiring in 1980, and also owned and operated Framingham Metal Fabricators from 1978 to 1998. He was a member of the Columbus Society and the Framingham Elks. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Donna and her husband, Stephen Leavey, of Mendon; a son, Richard, of Framingham; his grandchildren, Stephen and Jill Leavey, Christine Coyle, Briana and Lauren Pontremoli, Tamara Pontremoli; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Marie and Chase Coyle; his brothers, Charles, Henry and Adelmo. He was also the brother of the late Charles, Norman and Norma Quick. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 6, at 10 a.m., at St. Tarcisius Church in Framingham, followed by burial in St. Tarcisius Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours are Wednesday, July 5, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Ashland.
