Edward J. Brudz, 86, longtime resident of Ashland passed away Tue. Aug. 15th after a period of declining health.  He was husband to Virginia (Watson) Brudz for 51 years.  A graduate of Utah State, Ed worked as a manufacturing engineer for companies including IBM, Data General, and Prime Computer.  He was always ready with a kind, helping hand; active in his community with the Ashland Senior Center and St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland.  Mr. Brudz served his country honorably in the Army from 1958-60.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Stephen Brudz and his wife Linda of WI, and Catherine Brudz of Ashland, one grandson, Jacob Brudz of WI, one brother, Stanley Brudz of CT, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday Aug. 24th at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. Ashland.  Visiting hours will be held Wed. from 4:30-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Stroke Association.
