Obituary

Ednamarie J. Fox, 67, of Ashland, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at home following a period of declining health. She was the wife of James Fox for 47 years. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Edward and Edna (Devine) Schwenker, she lived in Ashland for more than 40 years. She attended St. Saviour Grammar and High School in Brooklyn, and graduated from Grace Institute in New York. She was employed at Framingham State College for 20 years, retiring in 2004. For many years she was a volunteer with American Red Cross, member and union steward with American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, and member and past president of St. Cecilia's Women's Club in Ashland. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting, sewing, 10-pin bowling and auto repair. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Ednamarie Baker and her husband, Charles, of Ashland and Cynthia Bishop of Natick; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A funeral Mass will be said Friday, July 13, at 9 a.m., at St. Cecilia's Church, Esty Street, Ashland. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland. Visiting hours are Thursday, July 12, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Ashland. Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Saviour High School, 588 6th St., Brooklyn, NY 11215.
