Edna Doris Moran, 85, of Framingham, MA, passed away peacefully at St. Patrick's Manor on Saturday, September 10th after a period of declining health. Born in Lynbrook, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Louise (Muller) Guthy. Edna was married for 53 years to her beloved husband, the late John James Moran, who died in 2006. Edna and John raise their family of 6 children in Huntington, NY after which they retired to a life of golfing and much deserved leisure in New Bern, NC. A resident of Framingham for the past 8 years, Edna moved from North Carolina to be closer to her family.
She is survived by her sister - Helen Nelson of Massapequa, NY; her six children - Janet (Moran) Farrell and her husband Joel of Ashland, MA, John Moran and his wife Donna of Meredith, NH, Dave Moran and his wife Joby of Catlett, VA, Tom Moran and his wife Laura of Deer Park, NY, Paul Moran and his wife Laura of Northport, NY, Mary Moran and her wife Kate Saput of Bremerton, WA; 14 grandchildren (Chris, Katie, Michael, David, Matthew, Eric, Garrett, Andrew, Kevin, Kim, Patrick, Colleen, Amy, Nick); 7 great grandchildren (Scott, Edana, Nara, Aslynn, Aidan, Aaron, Aniken ); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family is grateful for the loving care she received while residing at St. Patrick's Manor, and wishes to give a special word of thanks to Sister Mary Brigid Riley, who organized a Mass of Remembrance on September 12th so that the community of St. Patrick's Manor could honor Edna's memory.
The final internment of Edna's ashes will take place at a later date in Pinelawn NY, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
