Edgar W. Hunt, 91, a native of Ashland, passed away Jan. 24, 2008 following a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Mary (Morazzini) Hunt, who died in 1997. Born in Ashland, he was the son of the late Edgar and Clara (Whittemore) Hunt Sr. He was a machinist by trade and worked with the Telechron Corp. in Ashland and Raytheon Co. before retiring. He was a former member of the Ashland Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his children, Judith Detoma, Carolyn Toohey and Louise Hunt, all of Ashland, William Hunt of Nevada, and Edgar W. Hunt III of Ashland; two sisters, Blanche Mankeltow and Marjorie Bailey; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Ashland at 1 p.m. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service time.
