Douglas Mark Scotland, 56, of Ashland passed away unexpectedly Monday March 20th at his home.  He was the son of Bruce and Susan (Hastings) Scotland and loving husband of Joanne (Hall) Scotland to whom he was married 31 years.  A lifelong resident of Ashland, Doug was a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1978.  He worked for Sudbury Lumber for 37 years in the hardware department and customer service.  He was a member of the St. Tarcisius Church bowling league, and loved woodworking, music, kayaking on the Charles, skiing, and puttering around the yard.  He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and close friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his son, Keith Scotland of Ashland, one brother, David Scotland of Framingham, one sister, Paula Scotland of Durham, NC, and his mother in law, Margaret Hall.

Calling hours will be held Thursday March 23rd from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday at 11:00am in the Federated Church of Ashland, 118 Main St. Ashland.  In lieu of flowers please donate in Doug's name to a charity of your choice.
