Dorothy Eleanor McLeod, 86, of Ashland, passed away, Friday, Sept. 29th, at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Matilda (Ewart) Sears and wife of the late Roderick Donald McLeod, who died in 1963. Mrs. McLeod was a resident of Ashland for 54 years and worked at Romeo's Supermarket and Cumberland Farms, both in Ashland. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Parish in Ashland and served as a sacristan for many years. A devoted mother, Dorothy loved to cook for her family, enjoyed the outdoors, and was an avid gardener, known for the beautiful gardens around her home. She is survived by four children: Roderick Donald McLeod and his wife Julie Fannon of Provincetown, MA; Dorothy Jane McLeod of Marlborough; Mary Margaret Beauchamp and her husband James J. of Mendon; and John Thomas McLeod and his wife Margaret Angelini of Hopkinton; three grandchildren; Katherine, Emma, and Daniel Beauchamp; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Otto A. Sears and Mary M. Williams. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 3rd at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
