Doris (Denault) Gionet, 71, longtime resident of Ashland passed away Sat. Oct. 7th after a long battle with ALS.  She was the daughter of the late Leo and Barbara (Mannion) Denault.  She was the wife of the late Paul Arena who died in 2011 and later remarried to the late Warren Gionet who died in 2014.  Doris worked as a payroll clerk for TJX Co. for almost 25 years retiring in 2019.

She is survived by three daughters, Debra Huber and her husband Alan of FL, Michele Rivera and her husband Kevin of Ashland, MA, and Jane Charette and her husband Brian of RI, six grandchildren, Shaun and, Kaitlyn Cable, Kristina and Lucas Rivera, and Alicia and Brian Charette, three great grandchildren, one brother, George Denault of Natick, two sisters, Florence Fales of Framingham, and Carol Meyers of Worcester, and many nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late Barbara Amendola and the late Louise Denault.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday Oct. 13th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations in Doris' name may be made to The ALS Association, PO Box 37022 Boone, IA 50037-0022 or Compassionate Care ALS, P.O.
